about

The boy had heard what mirrors did. When you looked in a mirror, you saw your own face, how everyone else saw you. However, the boy had never looked in a mirror so had never seen his own face. One day, he found a mirror and was curious as to how he looked. However, looking in the mirror was not what he expected. “Where is my face?” the boy thought, “Everyone else has a face, surely I must do too.” The boy assumed the mirror must be broken so he searched to find another mirror. However, every mirror he found showed the same thing, his face was always missing. This worried the boy deeply until he realised something. “If I had no face, nobody would ever look me in the eye,” the boy thought. All he had to do was find someone who looked in his eye and he would know that it was the mirrors that were broken and he did in fact have a face. However, no matter how hard he searched, he could never find someone who did look him in the eye.

lyrics

There’s a coded message in my head

Some secret message, a hidden desire
To look through your eyes
Strange piece of glass, open my mind
Show me, where is my face?

Show me the truth, there’s something not right
Matter as blank as the night
No details to see, merely a shape
Where is it? Where is my face?

How can I know if I’m even a person?

How can I know if I’m even living?
How can I know if I’m even breathing?
How can I know that I saw you leaving?
How can I know that I had that feeling?
