Dystopia 05:04
In your mind’s eye there’s a picture The picture speaks the truth So turn it ‘round to face the wall Then the picture speaks no proof You can burn the houses You can scar the land If I can keep this company Why should I play my hand Just give me fifteen years of life Give me far more time to decide Just hide me here in cotton wool The dead can’t pass the blame Just make sure to stay inside the herd Playing someone else’s game You’ll build for me a bubble A place to buy my time For when you’re in a darkened room Blindness is no crime Dystopia you keep me sane You’ll keep me sane? There’ll be no early warnings There’ll be no secret map There’s only so much pressure To take before we snap There’ll be no going backwards We go forwards ‘till we crash When the fire races through the sky The only end is ash Dystopia just keep me sane Please keep me sane The cracks they grow in number A chasm will open wide There’s now only two choices An I will choose to hide The light is growing stronger Quickly shut the blinds Vision that’s tinged with red Infection on our minds Don’t dystopia, you’ll drive me mad You’re driving me mad

A recurring reflection which never ends Showing me my own mind All denial buried so deep It’s no longer there to find Every direction that I can look Only confirmation to see And yet still every time Someone disagrees with me How can it be that everyone’s thoughts Are always so tightly bound They all lie ready and waiting, To prey on me like hounds All too easy to just give in Make everything clear Can’t help but keep thinking but always think in fear Don’t let the mirrors corrupt your mind Don’t run away or you’ll be left behind Stuck in the middle of an endless fight Don’t let them beckon you into the light

Master computer, can you tell me what to do? Every decision is such a haze only clarity lies with you Master computer, can you tell me who to be? I only want to be happy, comfortable and free Master computer, can you tell me how to act? I know I’d only act on whim instead of act on fact Master computer can you tell me who to see? I see so many faces but they all look the same to me This endless noise is hurting me How can I know what to believe Master computer, can you tell me what to think? There’s a gap in my opinion will you fill the missing link? Master computer, can you tell me what is real? How can I understand this world when I don’t even know how I feel? You are my big brother And I love you with all my heart Just another empty box Just another empty box I think I left my heart in a playground Desires abandoned under a Christmas tree

There’s a coded message in my head Some secret message, a hidden desire To look through your eyes Strange piece of glass, open my mind Show me, where is my face? Show me the truth, there’s something not right Matter as blank as the night No details to see, merely a shape Where is it? Where is my face? How can I know if I’m even a person? How can I know if I’m even living? How can I know if I’m even breathing? How can I know that I saw you leaving? How can I know that I had that feeling?

Paradise 06:37
Welcome to a place where the sun shines every day Welcome to a place where sadness always goes away Welcome to a place where nobody can feel any pain Welcome to a place where everybody looks the same Welcome to a place where nobody begs for more Welcome to a place where everyone is always cured Welcome to a place where everyone wants to remain Welcome to a place where everyone thinks the same Careful ‘round the cracks in this world Don’t fall through any holes in this world If its hope you look for its danger you’ll find All can be fine if you avert your eyes Just focus them on the paradise Be careful what you wish for child Hope is a dangerous thing Welcome to paradise child

Somewhere in the wasteland a silence spreads While your friend takes a record of where you tread Don’t you know that everything is connected? One nod of agreement takes its toll You don’t know when a dealer sells your soul No-one really knows what it means to be innocent A hungry beast that’s wanting more Make sure that you’ve locked the back door I don’t see how long we can continue Sometimes my freedom scares me Forever wasteland Nothing changes A path to mayhem Forced submission A digital playground Where nobody is safe In one single heartbeat we could all die Why feel sadness when no-one can hear you cry I can’t bear to just stand here waiting If there’s no outside why should I leave To go and fight something I can’t see All you can do is just keep on living Sometimes my freedom scares me No call to action No clear reaction No foe to target No end to aim for A digital playground Where nobody is safe

Will you exist for me?

about

A family are attempting to purchase an expensive ball of solid gold. As they are about to pay for it, the child picks up the ball and notices a small crack in the surface. The child touches the crack and the thin layer of gold falls away from the ball leaving brittle, cast iron beneath this surface. It was a trick and a poor one for the outer layer of gold was so thin that it was only a matter of time before it fell away leaving the hidden surface revealed. And yet, that thin outer layer made it seem so good that the family were willing to part with such a large amount of money for it.
